Sanita Clogs - 100 years of History

Once Upon a time…

Back in 1907, when most farm implements were made of wood, the craftsmen who produced the shovels, pitchforks and brooms also made wooden shoes known as clogs. At that time, and in very modest circumstances, Sanita started a factory making wooden articles and began producing our own line of clogs for the farmers.

From working clogs to leisure and fashion wear

The clog is still, and always has been the cornerstone of the company’s development. With 100 years of experience in clog design Sanita had the necessary cumulative expertise to ensure that its products are manufactured using the very best high-quality materials, in contemporary designs – and with just the right fit. We are constantly adding the benefits of new materials and innovative production technologies in keeping with our ambition of bringing modern, comfortable clogs to the market – for work, leisure, and as fashion icons.

From Original Scandinavian tradition to a world wide trend

There is a long-standing tradition for wearing clogs in Scandinavia. Even today clogs remain the most popular type of footwear – and a natural part of the wardrobe in every home.

For one hundred years Sanita has grown from humble beginnings as a small local workshop to an important manufacturer within the clogs segment, exporting to 26 countries – including USA as our main single market.

Today, our company production facilities are located in both Denmark and Eastern Europe providing a better life for 80 families in Ukraine, 260 in Poland and 130 in Denmark – all friends and allies with the USA. Concept and product development is all handled in Denmark – in close partnership with our other HQ facilities such as market research, strategic planning as well as sales and marketing.
